⦁ Students can either adopt for hostel facility of they can get student accommodation facilities which are within the walking distance from the universities.

⦁ Student accommodation is generally much cheaper than the hostel facility

⦁ Pre-booking is required to get the accommodation booked. The pre-booking amount is sometimes is as low as $100 for each student.

⦁ The rent has to be paid one month in advance.

PBSA’s (Purpose-Built Student Accommodations)

PBSAs are Purpose built student accommodation that is housing specifically built for university students by private developers. Properties usually take one of two forms:

1. Rooms, Apartments and Houses – Shared, Studio and Ensuite Rooms.

2. Living with a Host Family (Home-Stays).

Rooms, Apartments & Houses

Shared Rooms:-

1. Living with one or more persons in the same apartment/house.

2. Sharing common areas like the kitchen and the living room with others.

3. Rent paid by all the Housemates would remain same irrespective of the rooms occupied in an Apartment.

Studio Rooms:-

1. A studio is a small apartment which combines several rooms, often the living room, bedroom, and kitchen.

2. Own private space that includes sleeping area, kitchen, bathroom and living space.

3. Privacy and Independence.

4. Can accommodate 2 people.

En-Suite Rooms

1. Own sleeping space and private bathroom.

2. Shared living room, kitchenette or cooking facilities.

3. Rent paid by all the Housemates would remain same irrespective of the rooms occupied in an Apartment.

Non En-Suite Rooms

1. Own private room with a shared bathroom.

2. Includes bed and lockable space.

3. Privacy and Independence.

4. Can accommodate 2 people.

Living With A Host Family (Home-Stays)

1. This type of Accommodation can be mostly found in Canada and some parts of the USA.
2. House and kitchen can be shared.
3. Private bedroom.
4. Food may/may not be included.
